Personal Data
Here at Make Cinch Technologies, we strive to make the hard things in life a cinch! That includes your data privacy.
With user data being spread so generously across the Internet, we understand the gravity of our responsibility to do our part in keeping your personal data safe. That means only collecting what we need to better serve YOU, and NOT sharing it with companies providing you with services you never asked for.
We also believe it means being obnoxiously transparent about the WHAT, HOW, and FOR HOW LONG of your data.
With that said, we hope any data security concerns you may have about Cinch Budget will be swept away by our answers to the following Frequently Asked Questions:

How Does Cinch Budget Protect My Personal Data?
At Make Cinch Technologies, we encrypt all data in transit on the public web and all personally identifiable information that can be encrypted at rest. All of our data is securely stored in the cloud by a trusted provider, Amazon Web Services, and we strive to use the best possible modern standards for software security.
My email and password: We protect your email and password by not requiring you to give it to us. We encourage our users to use Social Login (or OAuth2 for you techies) to set up accounts. Doing so will allow you to decrease the number of logins you have to keep up with to only a few that both we and you trust. If you do decide to set up an account with us directly, we keep it locked up with a trusted provider, Auth0 by Okta.
My usage data: Usage Data includes information that could potentially identify a user, or provide hints about information we don’t intend to store, such as location. In order to mitigate the risk of compromising such data as much as possible, we keep most usage data encrypted at rest and separate from any indicators that might tie such data to you.
My bank data: All bank transactions are sourced from a trusted provider, Plaid, and any such transactions we store are encrypted at rest.
For How Long Does Cinch Budget Keep My Data?
After deleting my account: As a rule, all data related to a user will be permanently deleted after 6 months of its last use. The best way to be sure that all of the data Cinch Budget has ever sourced from you is permanently deleted is simply to delete your account and wait for 6 months. This period allows us to recover a recent history of your account and answer certain questions for a short time if needed. Other than this historical data, all data related to your account is immediately deleted upon account deletion.
Bank data: While your transaction history may be up to 2 years old, any transactions older than 2 years are purged from our databases on a regular basis. When deleting an account, your entire transaction history is immediately purged from our databases.
